Midwives wanting to work in Private Practice must first meet criteria set by the Nursing and Midwife Board of Australia as a Midwife Endorsed for scheduled medicines:
- 5000 hours of midwifery practice across the last six years,
- completion of an approved postgraduate prescribing course
To apply midwives can contact AHPRA and seek an endorsement for scheduled medicines.
